Fall Layers

Happy Fall, y’all! I think I can easily say that fall fashion is pretty much everyone’s favorite. Reds, plaids, boots… what’s not to love! One of my favorite things about fall is layering. Adding layers to an outfit can make it more interesting and give a different vibe to an outfit. I’m going to show you two ways I’ve been layering so far this fall.

This first combo is a little unexpected but I love it! I paired this gold coin choker with my gold monogrammed necklace. With the olive tee, I think this is such a cool fall look. Depending on what you pair it with, this necklace mix be worn in summer or spring too. I’ve never been a fan of the layered necklace trend but with the monogram in there, it’s definitely more of my style.

Next is an outfit I’ve been thinking about for a while but never got the chance to wear until this fall. Layering the flannel with a cardigan gives this look a cozy vibe. I was so nice and warm in this all day!! The layered pearls just adds another layer to the outfit. I wore flats because I didn’t want to get too hot but riding boots or Hunters would be so cute too. You could also do leggings instead of jeans for an even comfier outfit. This would be perfect for a casual Thanksgiving or family party this fall/winter.

Lastly I just wanted to mention this top from J Crew! It makes you look like you have layers on, but it’s really just one shirt. I love it because it’s less bulky than actually layers, so you could wear it on fall days that are a little warmer. The button down sleeves make this top look classy and more dressy than without them.

Summer Accessories

Hi everyone! Sorry it’s been a bit since my last post, I’ve been busy with school ending and just plain writers block. Now I’m back and have an abundance of ideas (thanks to everyone on Instagram who gave me inspo)!

Accessorizing an outfit can be the hardest part of getting dressed. Differing jewelry can completely change the vibe of an ensemble. When I think of summer accessories, I think boho and warm gold tones. You can find a lot of items like this at Forever 21, American Eagle, and local shops or Etsy. Here’s some summer-y pieces I’ve found that I’d love to share with you guys!

These Swarovski Crystal Halo Studs from CVDesigns Boutique in downtown Seneca Falls are my faves. I got them for prom, but they are perfect for spring/summer. The sparkle of the Swarovski Crystals looks so pretty against the rose gold setting. These are hand made right in my hometown which makes me love them even more! Although the pink opal with rose gold is not available on the website anymore, the same ones in a silver setting are, as well as topaz with turquoise, and all crystal in rose gold. CVDesigns also has the cutest ear jackets and boho style dangle earrings. I’ve been seeing tassels everywhere this season. I love this trend, I think they’re adorable and add movement to any outfit. This gold tassel necklace from J Crew is great! I don’t have this exact one, but the one I have is very similar and I wear it with everything. I love it with tops like the one below, or off the shoulder shirts/dresses. So simple and cute, a necessity for summer!

The next necklace is a steal! Less than 3 dollars at Forever 21 for this piece that goes with practically everything. It can be worn like a choker or longer. I have it in gold, but it comes in silver as well. I wore it on my recent trip to NYC with two different outfits. It goes great with an off the shoulder or lower neck shirt. 

My last piece for today is the black floppy hat (pictured above). Whenever I get to wear this hat, I know it’s a good day. To say I love this hat would be an understatement. I am obsessed with it. No summer vacation is complete without a floppy hat outfit. Wearing it makes me feel like a trendy fashionista wherever I go. The one I have is from Forever 21, but I’ve seen some at places like Plato’s Closet and other second hand stores like that. Such a cute piece that instantly makes your outfit more interesting.

These are just some of my favorite summer accessories and how I style them. I hope I’ve inspired your next outfit and helped you take the guess work out of accessorizing.
